Remove the brake disc as described above in the appropriate section.
Brush off dirt and dust from various parts. trying not to inhale the dust.
Disconnect the handbrake cable and release spring from the handbrake lever at the brake pad support disc. If necessary, loosen the handbrake cable length adjuster (pic. 9.21.).
Remove the shoe pins, springs and their washers by pushing them in and turning 90°with pliers. Pay attention to that. that the fingers are removed from the back of the platter.
The brake pads, cable length adjuster, handbrake lever and return springs can now be pulled out together as an assembly.
Note the location of all the parts, then unhook the hooks of the upper and lower springs from the brake shoes and remove the handbrake lever and cable length adjuster (pic. 9.22.).
Apply some brake grease to the threads of the adjuster, then screw it in to the minimum length. Also apply a little brake grease to the friction areas of the brake pads with the platter.
Install one of the new pads and secure it to the platter with a pin, spring and washer.
Set the handbrake lever to the desired position.
Put another brake shoe and secure it with a pin, a spring with a washer.
Attach the top release spring to the hooks.
Position the adjuster between the lower ends of the shoes as directed before disassembly, then install the lower spring.
Connect the handbrake cable and spring to its lever.
Install the brake disc as described in the appropriate section above, but do not install the road wheel yet.
Repeat all operations with the other wheel of the car (on the other side).
Check the handbrake cable adjustment as indicated in the appropriate section below.
Install the wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground.
