Brake pedal — removal and installation (Opel Astra F)

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Remove the lower driver's footwell panel.

Disconnect the plug from the brake light switch; then turn the switch counterclockwise and remove it from the bracket.

Remove the snap ring from the right side of the pedal axle that connects to the fork (fig. 9.24.).





Using pliers, remove the return spring hook from the pedal, allowing you to remove the pedal axle.

Remove the lock from the left side of the axle.

Loosen the nut on the left side of the axle, then pull it out.

Remove the pedal and return spring.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.

Make sure the pedal release spring is positioned correctly.

Apply a small amount of grease to the pedal axle (with molybdenum disulfide).

Check that the axle has gaskets.
