If over time the pedal travel lengthens, then it can be assumed that there is a malfunction in the brake system:
With the engine running, depress the brake pedal by hand.
The free play should be a maximum of ⅓ of the possible pedal travel.
Otherwise, the automatic adjustment in the rear axle drum brakes no longer functions.
Or the disc brake pads are worn to a minimum.
Too long pedal travel can also be caused by seized brake pads or rusted brake calipers.
It is also possible that air has entered the brake system.
