1. With the ignition off and the brake system cooled down, press the brake pedal 3-5 times until the pedal becomes hard to consume the vacuum reserve in the vacuum booster.
2. To establish adaptation for measurement of effort of pressing a brake pedal.
3. Measure and record the distance (1) from the brake pedal to the steering wheel rim.
4. Apply a force of 450 N to the brake pedal, guided by the measuring device installed on the pedal.
5. Without removing the force from the pedal, measure and record the distance (2) from the brake pedal to the steering wheel rim.
6. Release the pedal and repeat steps 4 and 5 to obtain the second value, then proceed to the next step.
7. Calculate the average value of the two measurements obtained when pressing the brake pedal.
8. Subtract measurement value (1) from the mean (2) to get the brake pedal travel. The maximum piston stroke, measured with the engine off, the brake system cooled down and the vacuum booster discharged: 48-58 mm.
