When slippage of the drive wheels is detected, the electronic brake control unit activates the traction control mode.
With the help of wheel speed sensors, the electronic unit monitors the speed of rotation of the wheels during vehicle acceleration. In the event that a sharp increase in the speed of rotation of the drive wheel is detected (Loss of traction and slip occurs), the electronic control unit takes measures to reduce traction and / or brake the wheel that has slipped into slip. To reduce traction, the engine control unit reduces the torque supplied to the drive wheels, while at the same time sending a corresponding signal to the electronic brake control unit.
If the reduction in torque does not produce the desired effect, and also to increase the torque on the wheel opposite to the differential, a short brake is applied to the wheel that has lost traction. In this case, the system partially uses the same mechanisms as the anti-lock braking system.
The traction control system can be manually disabled or enabled by pressing the appropriate switch.
