Slope assist system (Opel Insignia A)

            0

When starting off on a hill, this system prevents the vehicle from rolling during the time the driver's foot moves from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. The electronic brake control unit calculates the brake pressure required to hold the vehicle on the hill for a certain time and sends the appropriate commands to the electromagnetic valves when the brake pedal is released. The hill start assist system is activated when the electronic brake control unit determines that the driver is about to start the vehicle up or down a hill based on the following indicators:
  • Brake pedal sensor signal.
  • Pressure in the brake circuits.
  • Longitudinal acceleration.
  • Engine torque.
  • Reverse gear sensor signal.
  • Clutch pedal sensor signal.
  • Accelerator pedal position sensor signal.
  • Vehicle speeds.
