Replacing the pedal assembly (Opel Insignia A)

Versions with manual transmission



1. Remove the front floor console.

2. Remove the lower instrument panel trim.

3. Remove the outer instrument panel trim cover.

4. Remove the side decorative molding of the windshield.

5. Remove the door sill trims from the front and rear doors of the vehicle.

6. Unscrew the two brake booster fasteners.

7. Remove the master brake cylinder.

8. Remove the steering column.

9. Unscrew the seven nuts (1) securing the pedal assembly.

Note: Tightening torque: 22 Nm.

10. Unhook the hood release lever, disconnect the instrument panel brace, lift and secure approximately 40 mm from the left side of the vehicle.

11. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

12. Disconnect the brake pedal from the brake booster rod by pulling it away from it.

13. Remove the pedal assembly (2).

14. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note: Install a new latch onto the brake pedal arm.


Versions with automatic transmission



1. Remove the front floor console.
