The brake fluid needs to be replaced not only because of the above-mentioned risk of steam bubbles, but also because of the risk of corrosion in the brake cylinders and brake pipes, which occurs as a result of water absorption. When replacing the brake fluid, proceed in the same way as when bleeding the brake system. Use 1 liter of fresh brake fluid.
If possible, suck the brake fluid out of the expansion tank with an injection syringe and refill it immediately.
Bleed the brake fluid until fresh fluid comes out of the bleed valve.
To do this, pump 250 cm³ of brake fluid through each bleed valve. In this case, there is a guarantee that every drop is replaced.
The prescribed sequence of actions is: back right, back left, front right, and finally front left.
Advice: brake fluid is poisonous. Therefore, do not pour used brake fluid into the sewer. It should also not be poured into a canister with waste oil, since waste oil mixed with brake fluid cannot be recycled. It is handed over separately in a correspondingly labeled container to a special waste disposal point (find out the address of the collection point from your local administration).
