Maintenance work
Changing the brake fluid is required not only because of the risk of vapor formation mentioned above, but also because of the risk of corrosion in the brake cylinders and brake pipes resulting from the absorption of water. When changing the brake fluid, the procedure is the same as when bleeding the brake system. Use 1 liter of fresh brake fluid.
If possible, drain the brake fluid from the expansion tank with an injection syringe and refill immediately.
Bleed the brake fluid until fresh fluid comes out of the bleed valve.
To do this, pump through each pump valve 250 cm3 brake fluid. In this case, there is a guarantee that every drop is replaced.
The prescribed sequence of actions is: rear right, rear left, front right, and finally front left.
Tip: Brake fluid is poisonous. Therefore, do not pour used brake fluid down the drain. It must also not be drained into the used oil canister, as Waste oil mixed with brake fluid must not be recycled. It is handed over separately in a suitably signed container to a special waste disposal point (Find out the address of the collection point in the local administration).
