The degree of wear of the rear brake pads and brake discs must be checked every 15 thousand km of run or every year of operation, depending on which comes first. Checking the rear disc brake mechanism is carried out similarly to checking the front brake mechanism. Additionally, on the rear brake mechanism, we check the mobility of the caliper lever 1.



When raising the parking brake lever (the parking brake system drive cables must be in good condition) it should turn forward (indicated by the arrow), and when released, under the action of the spring, return to its original position until it stops.

If the lever does not respond at all to the tension of the drive cables or does not return to its original position under the action of the spring, then the caliper must be replaced. However, to begin with, you can try to generously lubricate the lever's rolling axis and the area around it with penetrating lubricant and develop the lever by repeatedly raising and lowering the parking brake system drive lever, but the likelihood of returning to working order is extremely low.

Recommendation: To prevent such problems, make it a rule to periodically use the parking brake.
