To perform the work, you will need a special 10 mm wrench for the pipeline nuts and a rubber bulb (or syringe).
Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
Comment. On Zafira vehicles, the top panel of the engine shield must be removed (see «Zafira front wiper drive - replacement»).
2. Disconnect the block of the wiring harness of the sensor of insufficient level of brake fluid.
3. We remove the wiring harness from the mounts on the body of the reservoir of the main brake cylinder.
4. To facilitate access, remove the fuse and relay box and set it aside. To do this, press the lock with a slotted screwdriver and remove the block from the bracket upwards.
5. We pump out the working fluid from the reservoir of the main brake cylinder (see «Hydraulic Brake Actuator - Brake Fluid Change»).
6. Using a 11 mm wrench, unscrew the fittings of the brake pipes from the main brake cylinder.
7. Carefully remove the tubes from the cylinder without bending them much.
8. Using a 13 mm wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the master brake cylinder to the vacuum booster housing on the left side...
...and on the right side.
9. Remove the master brake cylinder assembly with the reservoir.
10. If necessary, remove the reservoir from the main brake cylinder by unbending the side clips.
11. Remove the GTZ sealing ring. When assembling, it must be replaced with a new one.
12. Install the master brake cylinder in reverse order.
13. Before installing the reservoir on a new brake cylinder, lubricate the reservoir fittings with clean brake fluid.
14. Fill the tank with fresh brake fluid and pump the hydraulic drive of the brake system (see «Hydraulic brake drive - pumping»).
15. We check the absence of fluid leaks at the points of connection of the brake pipes to the main brake cylinder.
