Removing
1. We prepare the car for work (cm, «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the wheel (see «Wheel - replacement»).
3. Turn out the bolt-fitting of the brake hose tip (see «Brake hoses - replacement»).
Warning! Do not depress the brake pedal with the brake hose disconnected.
4. Remove the caliper from the steering knuckle and remove the brake pads (see «Front brake pads - replacement»).
Repair
Comment. To be repaired (Spare parts are supplied with anthers and cuffs) brake caliper only with removable shoe guide. The brake caliper with the shoe guide, made as a single element with the steering knuckle, cannot be repaired; in case of a malfunction, it must be replaced as an assembly.
1. Squeeze out the piston through the hole for the bolt-fitting.
2. It is also possible to use a pneumatic tool by applying a small pressure of compressed air.
Warning! Be careful, the piston may shoot. In order to avoid injury, as well as damage to the piston, we put a rag or a wooden block between the piston body and the bracket.
3. Remove the piston from the caliper body.
4. Remove the boot...
... and carefully remove the ring, being careful not to damage the cylinder mirror.
5. We replace the removed boot and seal, inspect the surfaces of the piston and cylinder; in case of wear, scratches or corrosion, the parts are replaced.
6. Before assembly, lubricate the parts with clean brake fluid.
7. We install the parts in the reverse order, during assembly we combine the recesses in the cylinder...
...and on the piston.
Installation
1. Install the caliper in reverse order, replacing the brake hose O-ring with a new one.
2. We remove air from the hydraulic brake system (see «Hydraulic brake drive - pumping») and make sure the connection between the hose tip and the caliper is tight.
