Execution sequence
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
Comment. For the convenience of working on the Zafira model, it is necessary to remove the ventilation grill and the top panel of the motor shield (see «Zafira front wiper drive - check and replace»).
2. Drain the coolant (see «Coolant - replacement»).
3. Disconnect the wiring harness block from the throttle assembly and, if installed, the cruise control and throttle control cables, as well as the hoses of the cooling system, supply of crankcase gases and fuel vapors from the adsorber (see «Throttle assembly - removal, gasket replacement and installation»).
4. We unscrew the two brackets for fastening the coolant supply line to the throttle assembly, located on the intake pipe and the cylinder head cover (see «1.8 DOHC engine cylinder head cover - removal, gasket replacement and installation»).
5. Remove the top bracket of the generator (see «Alternator - replacement»).
6. Disconnect the pads and turn off the ECU case (see «Electronic engine control unit 1.8 DOHC - replacement»).
7. Remove the fuel rail assembly with injectors and the lower part of the electrical wiring protective cover (see «Nozzles - check and replacement»).
8. Press the latch and disconnect the tube of the vacuum brake booster from the intake manifold.
9. Use pliers to open the clamp of the coolant supply hose to the heater radiator and disconnect the hose from the inlet pipeline.
10. We press the side clamps and disconnect the block of the wiring harness for the system for changing the length of the inlet pipeline.
11. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the upper bolt securing the support bracket to the intake manifold.
12. Using a 15 mm socket wrench, unscrew the lower bolt securing the support bracket to the cylinder block and remove the bracket.
13. Open the clamp with pliers and remove the coolant supply hose from the intake manifold flange.
14. On the left side of the intake manifold, use a 10 mm socket wrench to unscrew the two nuts securing it to the cylinder head.
15. Using the same wrench, unscrew the remaining four nuts securing the intake manifold to the cylinder head.
16. We shift the pipeline along the studs from the head of the block and remove it.
17. Remove the intake manifold gasket.
18. Install the parts in reverse order. Tighten the nuts securing the intake manifold to the cylinder head to the prescribed torque (see «Reference data»).
