Sequence of execution
Note: The work is shown on the example of replacing a 1.6 DOHC engine. On other engines, the operation is performed similarly.
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the timing belt (see "Timing Belt - Checking Condition, Adjusting Tension and Replacing").
3. Using a TORX T40 key, unscrew the tensioner mounting bolt and remove it.

4. Install the parts in the reverse order. When installing, make sure that projection 1 of the tensioner matches recess 2 on the cylinder block.
