Execution sequence
Comment. The work is shown on the example of replacing a 1.6 DOHC engine. On other engines, the operation is carried out similarly.
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the timing belt (see «Timing belt - condition check, tension adjustment and replacement»).
3. Using the TORX T40 wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the tensioner and remove it.
4. We install the parts in the reverse order. When installing, make sure that the protrusion 1 of the tensioner coincides with the recess 2 on the cylinder block.
