Removal and installation the intake manifold — 2.8L petrol engine (Opel Insignia A)

Removal the upper intake manifold



1. Remove the fuel injector wire harness connector from the bracket.

2. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose connector (4) from the vacuum hose diffuser.

2. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose connector (4) from the vacuum hose diffuser.


3. Unscrew the four long bolts (1) securing the intake manifold.

4. Loosen the short intake manifold mounting bolts (2).

5. Remove the upper intake manifold (3).

6. Remove the left (1) and right (2) upper intake manifold gaskets.

6. Remove the left (1) and right (2) upper intake manifold gaskets.


7. Remove the two dowel pins (1) between the upper and lower intake manifold.



7. Remove the two dowel pins (1) between the upper and lower intake manifold.


Installing the Upper Intake Manifold



1. Install two dowel pins between the lower and upper intake manifolds.

1. Install two dowel pins between the lower and upper intake manifolds.


2. Install new gaskets (1 and 2) of the upper intake manifold.

2. Install new gaskets (1 and 2) of the upper intake manifold.


3. Install the upper intake manifold (3).

3. Install the upper intake manifold (3).


4. Install the two short bolts (2) securing the intake manifold and tighten to 23 Nm.



5. Install the four long bolts (1) securing the intake manifold and tighten to 23 Nm.

6. Install the brake booster vacuum hose connector (4) onto the vacuum hose diffuser.

7. Install the fuel injector wire connector to the wiring harness bracket.

7. Install the fuel injector wire connector to the wiring harness bracket.


Removal the lower intake manifold



1. Loosen the two bolts (1) securing the lower intake manifold.

1. Loosen the two bolts (1) securing the lower intake manifold.


2. Remove the lower intake manifold (2).

3. Remove the lower intake manifold gasket (3).

Installing the lower intake manifold



1. Install a new lower intake manifold gasket.

2. Install the lower intake manifold.

3. Install the two lower intake manifold mounting bolts and tighten to 23 Nm.
