Attention: When removing the drive shaft from the crankcase of the gearbox assembly, gear oil will flow out - substitute a previously prepared container and quickly close the hole with a suitable plug.
2. Remove the right drive shaft (see section 2).
3. Holding the hinge pin with an open-end wrench by the flats, give the lower fixing nut and separate the stabilizer link from the anti-roll bar.
4. Turn out 3 fixing bolts (see resist. illustration) and remove the intermediate shaft with mounting flange from the differential assembly through the intermediate support.
3.4 Bolts (indicated by arrows) flange mounting (3) intermediate to intermediate support (4)
5. Disconnect the wiring harness from the intermediate support, unscrew the 3 bolts securing the intermediate support and disconnect it from the engine block.
6. Remove the circlip from the drive/intermediate shaft stub (see resist. illustration) and install a new one in its place.
7. Installation is made in an order the return to an order of removal. Thoroughly clean the shaft splines and hub bore. Lubricate the packing lips and shaft studs with clean gear oil/ATF. When inserting the drive shaft into the differential assembly, do not damage the sealing gland - if necessary, use a mandrel (for example, Opel KM-6332). At the end of the operation, check the transmission oil level, if necessary, make the appropriate adjustment.
