9. To perform the work, you will need a lifting device (hoist) with appropriate attachments for lifting the engine, or a universal or specialized set of attachments from Opel to hold the engine on the front subframe of the car during removal/replacement of the support. When removing the belt/chain on some engines, it may be necessary to slightly raise/lower the engine to remove the mounting bolts from the mounting sockets. In this case, to hang the power unit, you must use only a lifting device that allows you to change the position of the engine after removing the support. In some cases, you can use a jack to hang the engine, placing a wooden block of suitable size between the jack head and the engine. It is recommended that all work involving the removal of engine mounts be performed at an Opel service station.
10. The procedure for installing/removing the universal tool is described below using the Z18XE engine as an example.
Note: Some engines may require additional special adapters
11. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5), remove the engine cover (see Section 2) and air purifier (see Chapter 4).
12. Jack up and place the vehicle on stands or lift it. Remove the multi-rib belt cover or engine sump guard (see above). Release the 2 hydraulic power steering lines routed along the front suspension subframe from their holders.
5.13 Installing the OpelKM-6313 (1) device on the subframe
13. Install the fixture OpelKM-6313 (see illustration) first on the left side of the subframe (I), then on the right (II). The guide pins of the device should enter the holes in the subframe. Tighten the mounting bolts.
14. Install and secure the 3 supports (see illustration) fixtures: A - from the gearbox side, B - from the right support side. Adjust the height of the supports by twisting them upward until they rest against the engine block - the fixture should be firmly fixed on the subframe without any play.
5.14 Installation of supports for the Ore1-KM-6313 device (using the Z18XE engine as an example)
15. Lower the car and remove the mounting bolts (see illustrations) and remove the engine mount. If necessary, remove the bracket that secures the mount to the engine block.
Note: The general appearance and mounting of the supports on different models may differ slightly from those shown in the illustrations.-
5.15a Right support (1) of Z16XE/Z18XE engines: 2. Bolts for fastening the support to the side member; 3, 4. Bolts and nut for fastening the support to the bracket
5.15b Right engine mount Z32SE: 1. Bolts for fastening the support to the bracket; 2, 3. Bolts for fastening the support to the side member
16. Dismantling of the device is carried out in reverse order.
