Vehicle identification (Opel Frontera B)

Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) are located in several places on the chassis and body of the vehicle. All vehicle identification numbers consist of 17 digits. The vehicle identification number contains a code that indicates the country of manufacture, manufacturer, type of vehicle, etc.

1 or 0 - finishing level; 1 = RS (Sport) or LIMITED (Estate), 0 = Basic (Sport or Estate)

ZC or VF - body shape; VF = Estate, ZC = Sport

X - year of manufacture; X = 1999

V - manufacturer; V = IBC plant, Luton

123456 - chassis number

The vehicle identification number is stamped on the right outer surface of the chassis side member, with the height of the letters and numbers being 7 mm.

Vehicle information code plate

The vehicle information code plate is attached to the left side of the engine compartment bulkhead under the hood. The plate shows:

• approved prototype number (APN);
• vehicle Identification Number (VIN);
• gross Vehicle Weight (GVW);
• gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) plus Gross Trailer Weight (GCW);
• front axle load (AXLE 1), kg;
• rear axle load (AXLE 2), kg;
• type number (TYPE).

Vehicle Service Data Plate

The vehicle's service data plate is attached to the left side of the engine compartment bulkhead under the hood. The following are shown on the plate in the form of codes:

• vehicle identification number;
• type of car;
• equipment specification;
• interior equipment;
• color equipment;
• paint compatibility.
