Gas engine
1. Place the transmission in neutral and depress the clutch pedal.
2. Don't gas up.
3. Turn the ignition key to position "START".
High idle will automatically return to normal after the engine has warmed up to normal operating temperature.
Diesel
1. Shift the transmission to neutral, depress the clutch pedal.
2. Don't gas.
3. Turn the key to position "ON".
4. After switching off the preheat mode control lamp, turn the key to position "START".
As soon as the start occurs, the diesel electronic control system will begin to maintain the stability of its revolutions - there is no need to increase the revolutions due to acceleration if there is no intention to move off.
When starting a diesel engine in cold weather (at temperatures below 0°C) after 10 seconds of unsuccessful cranking of the engine, the preglow mode should be re-enabled. Continue attempts to start until they are successfully completed, after which do not immediately release the key until the speed is finally stabilized.
