On engines with two camshafts, remove the crankshaft, hydraulic valve lifters with a rubber plunger - do not turn the cylinder head over to remove them. Keep the valve lifters always vertical (oil groove at the bottom, as shown in the figure) and immerse them in order of removal in a container of clean engine oil and keep in it until installation.
Install a valve spring remover to remove the valve. Make sure that its ends firmly cover the valve head and spring plate.
Compress the valve spring to relieve pressure from the valve spring head that is pressing against the valve cotters. If the poppet sticks to the valve stem, secure the fixture and lightly tap the ends with a soft-shelled hammer.
Remove the two valve cotters, then carefully remove the tool.
Repeat for the rest of the valves, keeping all parts in order so that they can be reinstalled in their original position, unless all parts need to be replaced. In the event that they are to be used in the future, place each valve assembly in a separate labeled plastic bag. The cylinders and valves are counted from the end of the timing belt. On engines with two camshafts, valve parts are distinguished by intake and exhaust, as well as by numbers.
