Remove the cylinder head.
Remove the sump, oil supply pipe and reflector (if available).
If the connecting rods and large connecting rod caps are not marked to indicate their location in the cylinder head (those. cylinder numbers), mark them with a punch on each side of the cap/rod connection. Note which side of the engine the marks are directed.
Turn away bolts of a cover of a big head of the first rod and remove a cover. If the bearing shell can still be used, tie the cover with the shell.
Check the top of the cylinder bore for scallop wear. If there are obvious signs, carefully scrape it off with a reamer tool, otherwise when removing the piston from the block, the piston rings may become stuck in this scallop.
With the end of the wooden handle of the hammer, pressing the bottom of the connecting rod, push the piston/connecting rod assembly up out of the cylinder. Remove the bearing shell and tape it to the connecting rod if it is fit to use.
Remove the remaining three piston / connecting rod assemblies in the same way. If necessary, scroll the crankshaft.
