On models with rear drum brakes, remove the brake drum as directed in chapter 9.
On models with rear disc brakes, remove the brake caliper and brake disc as directed in chapter 9. The bracket can be hung out of the way so as not to disconnect the hydraulic piping.
On models with rear disc brakes, disconnect the return spring from the handbrake lever and brake pad platter.
On models with ABS, disconnect the sensor connector located at the rear of the hub assembly.
Loosen the four nuts and remove the hub assembly. On models with rear disc brakes, the assembly can be removed along with the brake pad platter. In this case, disconnect the handbrake cable from its lever. On models with rear drum brakes, the brake pad platter can be left on the rear suspension beam.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
New hub nuts must be installed and tightened in three stages, as indicated in the specification.
On models with rear disc brakes, if required, ensure that the handbrake cable and return spring are correctly installed.
On models with rear disc brakes, install the brake disc and caliper as shown in chapter 9.
On models with rear drum brakes, install the brake drum as directed in chapter 9.
