Note: The heating output depends on the coolant temperature and therefore only reaches its maximum value when the engine is warm.
To quickly warm up the cabin:
- Select the desired direction of air flow distribution;
- Turn the central regulator to the right as far as it will go;
- Set the right rotary switch to position 3. Comfort mode («cold head and warm feet»):
- Set the left rotary switch to or ;
- Move the central control to the middle position.
In comfort mode, cool air is supplied to the front level of the driver and front passenger, and heated air is supplied to the footwells. For heating lower cabin space it is necessary to select the position with the left switch and turn the central regulator to the right sector of the scale, then activate the fan with the required air supply intensity. This mode is used to evenly heat the entire passenger compartment.
Removing condensation from windows
To quickly remove condensate, frost or ice from the windshield/front side windows, set the right switch to position turn the central control to the right until it stops and set the air flow intensity switch to position 3 or 4 - if necessary, open the side deflector nozzles and point them at side windows. Turn on the heated rear window.
To simultaneously heat the passenger compartment, set the air distribution switch to the position.
Air conditioning (with appropriate equipment)
Comfort mode
- Turn on the air conditioner;
- Turn off the air circulation mode;
- Set the air distribution direction switch to or ;
- Set the desired temperature with the central rotary knob;
- Activate the fan with the required air supply;
- Adjust the intensity and direction of the air flow using the rotary deflectors.
If the central regulator is set to the middle position, then, depending on the position of the left air distribution switch:
- warmer air will flow into the lower space of the cabin, and colder air will go up;
- warm air will flow through the side deflectors, and colder air through the central ones.
Maximum cooling
- Turn on the air conditioner;
- Set the air distribution direction switch to ;
- Turn the central rotary control to the leftmost position (all the way);
- Set the right rotary switch to position 4;
- Fully open all deflector nozzles.
Note: This will automatically switch the system to air circulation mode.
Removing moisture and frost from windows
Note: This mode can be used when the windows are fogged up, for example, in wet weather or from wet clothes.
- Turn on the air conditioner;
- Press the button on the windshield air supply switch, the LED built into the button should light up. At the same time, the system fan will automatically (regardless of the position of the switch handles) will start operating at maximum speed, and the entire air flow will be directed to the windshield;
- Turn the central regulator to the right sector of the scale;
- If necessary, open and direct the side deflectors to the side windows;
- Activate the heated rear window. When you press the button again, the system will switch to the previously configured mode of operation - the LED built into the button should turn off.
HVAC system with automatic temperature control function (climate control)
The design of the HVAC control panel with the automatic temperature control function is shown in illustration 18.6. The central rotary regulator controls the system through the menu of the information display, and the left and right rotary regulators set the average value of the temperature maintained in the vehicle interior. It is possible to control the temperature separately for the driver and front passenger seats (dual zone control).
18.6 HVAC control panel with automatic adjustment
AUTO mode is basic. This mode can be used all year round, regardless of seasonal temperature changes - the system independently regulates the intensity and direction of air supply, as well as the temperature of the air flow based on the temperature settings specified by the user, the air temperature inside the passenger compartment and outdoor atmospheric conditions. The system provides automatic compensation for changes in temperature inside the passenger compartment due to external influences, such as sunlight.
Note: Full climate control functions are only available when the engine is running.
Indication of the current operating mode of the system is displayed at the bottom of the information display in the central field (between outdoor temperature and chronometer) (see illustration 18.7).
18.7 Indication of the current operating mode of the HVAC system
Note: Depending on the display model, the image may be different, the average temperature value set for the front passenger seat will be displayed in the rightmost field at the bottom of the display.
When the ignition is turned off, the climate control settings are stored in the system memory, the selection of the system operation parameters is possible in manual mode by controlling through the information display menu (see below).
