Risk of Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning (Opel Vectra C)

Engine exhaust gases contain highly toxic carbon monoxide (CO), which can cause loss of consciousness with a high probability of death when inhaled. If the exhaust system is in good working order and the vehicle is operated correctly, engine exhaust gases should not enter the vehicle interior. Try not to forget to check the exhaust system and the tightness of its component connections every time:

During the next engine oil change, when the car is raised off the ground;
If there is a noticeable change in the nature of the noise emitted by the exhaust system;
After emergency situations in which parts located under the bottom of the vehicle may have been damaged.

In confined spaces with poor ventilation, such as a garage, CO concentrations can quickly increase to dangerous levels - never leave the engine running with the garage door closed.

Note: Do not leave the engine running for long periods of time even with the gate open.

Immediately after starting the engine, you should drive the car out of the garage and continue warming up the engine outside.

When driving with the tailgate open, exhaust gases can enter the car interior, creating a dangerous situation. If a situation arises where it is not possible to close the door tightly, you should fully open all windows and turn on the interior ventilation system to maximum performance.

When inside a vehicle with the engine idling (even in an open area), do the following:
