Life and health safety equipment (Opel Vectra C)

All vehicles considered in this Manual are equipped with a set of means designed to ensure the safety of life and health of the driver and passengers in the event of a road traffic accident (RTA). This includes impact-absorbing deformation zones of the body, seats equipped with headrests, seat belts, special child seats (passive elements), as well as emergency automatic belt tensioners, driver and front passenger airbags (active elements).

Note: Safety features also include additional rear door locks and seat belt tension limiters.

Remember that there is no safety system that provides 100% protection against all possible damage and injuries! The greatest effect is achieved with the comprehensive use of all elements of the safety systems provided by the design and included in the vehicle package. For the correct and most effective functioning of all elements of the safety system, the position of the body of the occupant is of great importance. Before each trip, the driver and passengers should check the adjustment of the seats and headrests, they should give the correct position to their body, pressing their backs tightly against the back of the seat and firmly placing their feet on the floor of the cabin.

Failure to sit correctly while driving increases the risk of injury in an accident. For example, if passengers sit hunched over, lie down, turn to the sides, lean forward or sideways, climb onto the seat with their feet, the risk of them receiving serious injuries as a result of an accident increases significantly. In addition, front passengers who sit incorrectly on the seats can receive serious injuries from interior trim parts breaking as a result of an accident, as well as from the deployment of the front or side airbag.



If the front passenger's head is tilted to the side while driving and is in the deployment zone of the airbag, the risk of serious injury or death in a crash is greatly increased.

If the vehicle has side/head airbags, do not put your hands out of the window or lean on the front door of the vehicle with the window down. Also, do not allow rear passengers to clasp the backs of the front seats or otherwise place their hands/any objects in the airbag coverage area.
