The driver himself determines by his handling of the car whether the end will come early or the first engine will withstand a mileage of 160,000 km or more. The decisive factor here is the temperature of the oil in the engine. If the coolant temperature indicator signals the operating temperature quite early, then the engine oil acquires perfect lubricating properties after 10 minutes of driving at the earliest.
Left:When measuring compression pressure, the measuring device must be connected to the spark plug hole in a completely hermetically sealed manner.
Right: Before the compression pressure can be measured, the fuel pump relay (arrow) must be disconnected from the socket in the relay box.
If you drive short distances for weeks, it is also not recommended to immediately fully depress the gas pedal. When the engine runs idle in the city for a long time, sediment forms in the combustion chambers and on the valves, which should be burned off at full operating temperature and fast, but not abrupt driving: this corresponds to 4000-5000 rpm.
