Hollow pillars are the cheapest option for fixing a car. They should not be wet or have cracks, otherwise they can slip or break under load. A board should be placed between the block and the body to evenly distribute the load on the entire block. The hollow block itself should be installed vertically on a flat and solid surface (concrete or asphalt). Soft soil or grass are not suitable.
How to secure a car?
The support stands are the ideal complement to the mobile jack. With all other jacks - and also with the mobile jack installed on the side - there is a risk that the tripod placed on the other side will simply move to the side. The most favorable position of the tripod is when one of its legs is facing outward and two are facing the middle of the car. When buying, pay attention to the fact that the supporting surface of the tripod is not too small. When installing the support tripod, check that it cannot squeeze the body anywhere. It is useful to put an additional wooden block under it, as shown in the photo on the previous page.
Overpasses provide the fastest way to lift a car, since a jack is not needed in this case. In addition, the car stands absolutely securely. It is important that the ramp, firstly, has a sufficiently high side fence and protection against the car rolling forward, and secondly, that a car with a front spoiler can drive onto it. As an additional insurance for the car, there should be a recess for the wheels in the supporting surface. Cheap models often do not meet these requirements.
