Removing
Front section of handbrake cable
1. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands.
2. In the car, remove the handbrake protective cover and remove it along the handbrake lever.
3. Lower the handbrake lever and unscrew the adjusting nut from the front end of the handbrake cable.
4. Remove a back part of system of release of the fulfilled gases.
5. Remove the heat shield to access the handbrake compensator plate.
6. Rotate the rear of the front handbrake section 90°and disengage from the compensator plate.
7. Remove the rubber seal from the bottom of the vehicle and remove the front section of the handbrake cable.
Secondary handbrake cable section
1. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands. Fully lower the handbrake lever.
2. Remove a back part of system of release of the fulfilled gases.
3. Remove the heat shield to access the handbrake cable compensator plate.
4. Move the compensator plate forward, then rotate the rear end of the front section of the handbrake cable 90°and disconnect the cable from the compensator.
5. Disconnect the back of each cable from the rear short handbrake cables.
6. Release the handbrake cable from the mounting brackets and remove it from under the car.
Rear section of handbrake cable
1. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands. Fully lower the handbrake lever.
2. Using a screwdriver as a lever, disconnect the clamp connecting the secondary and rear handbrake cable.
3. Disconnect the handbrake cable from the rear brake shoe lever.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, but it is necessary to adjust the hand brake.
