Removing
Mark the rear wheels and hubs with chalk so that you can reinstall the wheels in their original position. Loosen the wheels.
Install the handbrake lever in the third ratchet groove.
Raise the car.
Remove wheels.
Remove brake drums see 16.8.
Measure the length of the free thread of the rod, record the value
Unscrew the nut so that the handbrake cable can be removed from the equalizer.
Remove the cable from the guides in the traction tunnel.
Disconnect the polymer guides from the holders on the gas tank. Models "Caravan" remove the cable from the guide on the body.
Disconnect the cable from the guides on the rear suspension.
Remove the handbrake cable stopper from the polymer sleeve with something sharp.
Unhook the handbrake cable from the shoes and remove it from the brake shield.
Installation
Insert the handbrake cable into the brake shield and attach it to the blocks.
Insert the plastic sleeve into the brake shield and press in the circlip with a screwdriver.
Attention: If before removing the brake drum the lever of the hand brake shoes was released, then it should be set to its previous position and the brakes should be adjusted. The installation system must be turned back, see 16.10.
Install the brake drum see 16.8.
Insert the handbrake cable into the guides in the traction tunnel.
When doing this, make sure that the black guide is installed higher.
Connect the equalizer and locking plate to the cable and fasten to the rod.
Tighten the nut to the previously measured value.
Attention: If before removing the brake drum the lever of the handbrake shoes was released, the brakes should be adjusted.
Install the wheels, taking into account the labels.
Lower the vehicle, tighten the wheel bolts crosswise to 90 Nm.
