Replacing friction linings (Opel Kadett D)

Removal

Remove the brake pads.



Drill out the friction linings with a suitable drill.

Remove drilled rivets from the pads using a suitable punch.

Installation

Friction linings are available in two sizes: 5 mm linings can be installed immediately after riveting; 5.6 mm linings must first be adjusted to the size of the worn-out drum. In general, all linings of one suspension should be changed at once.

Thoroughly clean the surface of the pads when flying. Do not apply any glue between the pads and pads.



Rivet the pads with the appropriate tool.

When riveting new pads, start from the middle.

Install the brake pads.
