Repair of the brake wheel cylinder (Opel Kadett D)

If the cylinder does not need to be replaced, it can be removed assembled. In any case, the brake pads must be removed.

Attention: Install the complete repair kit.


Disassembly



Remove the dust covers with a screwdriver.

Remove the pistons, seals and springs from the cylinder.

Clean all parts only with brake fluid or alcohol.

Wipe the inside of the cylinder with a non-dust cloth. If there is a groove or rust, replace the cylinder.

Loosen the air release screw.

Installation



Replace dust boots and seals.

Caution: Before installation, lubricate the seals and pistons with brake cylinder oil.

Insert the left piston with the dust cover.

Insert the left piston with the dust cover.


Insert the left cuff from the right side in the correct position, see figure A888.



Insert the spring, right seal and right piston.

Install the right boot, see figure A4103.

Tighten the air release screw.

Assemble the brake.

Bleed the brake system.
