Removal
1. Depressurize the fuel system (Chapter 8).
2. Block the front wheels, jack up the rear of the car and place it on axle stands placed under the sides of the body frame. The fuel filter is located at the rear of the fuel tank, on the right side
3. Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the filter mounting bracket.
4. Carefully note the marks on the fuel filter housing. There should be an arrow (showing the direction of fuel flow), directed towards the engine compartment. There may also be the words "EIN" (inlet) and "AUS" (outlet) on the ends of the filter housing.
5. Clamp the fuel filter hoses, then loosen the clamps and disconnect the hoses.
6. Loosen the screw to release the mounting bracket, then pry open the clamp with a screwdriver and remove the fuel filter (see illustration).

Installation
7. Install the new fuel filter in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the fuel flow arrow is oriented correctly. Turn on the ignition and check the system for leaks; if any signs of a leak are found, correct the problem before starting the engine.
