Note: Before you start, see Chapter 2.
Removing
1. Depressurize the fuel system (Chapter 8).
2. Block the front wheels, jack up the rear of the vehicle and place it on axle stands placed under the sidewalls of the body frame. The fuel filter is located at the rear of the fuel tank, on the right side
3. Unfasten the fuel supply hose from the filter mounting bracket.
4. Carefully note the marks on the fuel filter housing. Should be an arrow (showing direction of fuel flow), pointing towards the engine compartment. There may also be words "EIN" (entrance) And "AUS" (exit) at the ends of the filter housing.
5. Clamp the fuel filter hoses, then loosen the clamps and disconnect the hoses.
6. Unscrew the screw to release the mounting bracket, then open the clip with a screwdriver and remove the fuel filter (see illustration).
Installation
7. Install a new fuel filter in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the fuel flow direction arrow is correctly oriented. Turn on the ignition and check the system for leaks; if any signs of leakage are found, correct the problem before starting the engine.
