1. If the fuel priming pump is serviceable and working, when you turn on the ignition, you will hear a hum from under the rear of the car. If the engine does not start, the priming pump should turn off after approximately one second. If excessive noise is heard it may be due to a faulty fuel flow damper. The absorber can be replaced according to Chapter 18.
2. If the pump does not run at all, check the appropriate fuse and relay.
3. To check the operation of the fuel priming pump, special equipment is required and it is recommended to seek advice from an Opel dealer.
