1. If the fuel pump is working properly, you will hear a humming noise from under the rear of the vehicle when you turn on the ignition. If the engine does not start, the fuel pump should shut off after about one second. If excessive noise is heard, it may be due to a faulty fuel flow damper. The damper can be replaced, following the instructions Chapter 18.
2. If the pump does not work at all, check the corresponding fuse and relay.
3. To check the operation of the fuel pump, special equipment is required and it is recommended to seek advice from an Opel dealer.
