Note: If the air bell is removed, use a new gasket when installing. The threads of the air flow meter mounting bolts must be coated with blocking compound when installing.
Removal
1. Remove the air cleaner assembly as described in Chapter 4.
2. Remove the bolt securing the air flow meter to the air filter cover (see illustration).
3. Unscrew the four mounting bolts on the inside of the air filter cover, remove the two stiffeners, and remove the air flow meter (see illustration).
4. If necessary, the air bell can be removed from inside the air filter cover.
Installation
5. Perform installation in reverse order, paying attention to the following.

6. If the air bell has been removed, use a new gasket when installing it.
7. Coat the threads of the four air flow meter mounting bolts that are installed inside the air cleaner cover with thread locking compound.
