Speedometer Drive Cable — Removal and Installation (Opel Vectra A)

Removal

1. Remove the instrument panel as described in Chapter 18.

2. Pass the cable through the bulkhead into the engine compartment.

3. Working in the engine compartment, unscrew the mounting bushing and disconnect the speedometer drive cable from the transmission (see illustration).



4. Now the cable can be removed from the car.

Installation

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that the cable is not twisted or bent between the instrument panel and the partition. Note that the cable should be located to the right of the steering column bracket.
