Instrument panel — removal and installation (Opel Vectra A)

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the steering wheel (Section 10).

3. Remove the steering column covers and the upper and lower instrument panel trim panels (Section 11).

4. Remove the top and two bottom screws securing the instrument panel (see illustration).



5. Carefully remove the instrument cluster and disconnect the speedometer cable and the two wire terminals. Note that the speedometer cable is held in place by a clip that must be pressed in to release the cable (see illustration).



6. If necessary, the instrument panel can be removed.

Installation

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, but make sure that the speedometer drive cable is not twisted or bent.
