Removing
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. The switch is screwed into the oil pump, on the intake manifold side of the engine. On models 1.4 and 1.6 l (except C16 NZ2) the switch is screwed at right angles to the crankshaft axis, while on the C16 NZ2, 1.8 and 20 l models it is screwed parallel to the crankshaft (see illustration).
3. In most cases, access to the switch is quite easy. However, on some models, access will be improved by jacking up the front of the vehicle and removing the front right wheel
4. Disconnect the switch wiring and using a wrench, unscrew the switch (see illustration). When you remove the switch, plug the oil pump hole quickly to minimize oil loss and prevent dirt from entering.
Installation
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal; close the switch, reconnect the wire, then check and if necessary top up the oil level as described in Section 1.
