Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. The switch is screwed into the oil pump, on the intake manifold side of the engine. On 1.4 and 1.6 L models (except C16 NZ2) the switch is screwed in at a right angle to the crankshaft axis, while on the C16 NZ2, 1.8 and 2.0 l models it is screwed in parallel to the crankshaft (see illustration).

3. In most cases, access to the switch is quite easy. However, on some models, access will be improved if the front of the car is jacked up and the front right wheel is removed
4. Disconnect the switch wiring and use a wrench to unscrew the switch (see illustration). When you remove the switch, quickly plug the hole in the oil pump to minimize oil loss and prevent dirt from entering.

Installation
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal; press the switch, reconnect the wire, then check and top up the oil level if necessary as described in Section 1.
