Electrically controlled antenna — removal and installation (Opel Vectra A)

Removal

1. The standard factory electrically controlled antenna can be replaced separately from the antenna unit.

2. Turn on the radio until the antenna is fully extended.

3. Unscrew the mounting nut.

4. Lift the spring sleeve up and release its lower end.

5. The assembly can now be removed from the mechanism by pulling it upwards.

Installation

6. Insert the spherical pin of the antenna assembly into the base.

7. Gently push the antenna down as far as possible until it locks into the mechanism (see illustration).



8. Turn off the radio so that the antenna is lowered.

9. If the antenna does not lower completely into the base, lower it manually.

10. Insert the spring bushing into the base and tighten the mounting nut.

11. Check the operation of the antenna by turning the radio on and off several times.
