Air bag connection block — removal and installation (Opel Vectra A)

Warning: Please see warnings at the beginning before proceeding Chapters 55.

Removal

1. Remove the air bag and steering wheel as described previously.

2. Remove the upper and support covers of the steering column if necessary, see. Section 10.

3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the junction block below the steering column and remove the contact block from the steering column (see illustration).

Installation

4. Before installing the coupling block, make sure the front wheels are in the 4 straight ahead position.

5. Place the connecting block on the steering column in the correct position as marked during removal.

6. Route the wiring harness under the ignition/steering column switch and connect the wiring connector.

7. Install the steering column covers.

8. Install the steering wheel and air spring as described previously.
