The coolant temperature sensor is installed in the cylinder head and monitors the coolant temperature. A thermistor is used as a sensor, which is sensitive to temperature changes. The electrical resistance of a thermistor decreases as the temperature increases.
Removal
Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
Disconnect the connector (1) of the coolant temperature sensor (2).

Remove the coolant temperature sensor from the cylinder head and collect any leaking coolant.
Installation
Install the coolant temperature sensor with a new sealing ring on the cylinder head and secure with the bolt, tightening it to a torque of 10 N·m.
Connect the connector to the coolant temperature sensor.
Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
Add coolant to the engine cooling system, bleed the cooling system and check the cooling system for leaks (see the relevant chapter).
