1. Lubricate the hood hinges, trunk lid and doors periodically, applying 1-2 drops of engine oil. It is best to do this immediately after the car is washed.
2. Periodically lubricate the hood latch support pin and the hood latch cable.
3. Do not apply excessive amounts of lubricant to door latches and counter plates. A little bit of engine oil on the latch fork and a thin coat of high melting point lubricant on the counter plate is usually sufficient. Make sure that all parts are properly cleaned, wiped down, and that they are adjusted correctly before lubricating.
