Note: On vehicles from year 04 with ESP - after each battery disconnection the steering wheel angle sensor loses its basic setting. It must be recalibrated.

Removal
Open the hood.
Disconnect the battery terminals.
Disconnect the ground wire.
Remove the heated lambda fuel ratio sensor.
Disconnect the wiring harness connector.
Release the wiring harness.
Carefully unscrew using the KM-61291 tool.
Remove the engine transport earring on the left 2.
Remove the bolt.

Remove the exhaust manifold shield.
Unscrew the 3 mounting bolts.
Turn the oil dipstick guide tube forward.
Remove the oil filter housing cover.
Note: On the "ECO" model variant, remove the engine compartment cover at the bottom.
Place a receiving tray underneath.

Remove the oil filter housing.
Unscrew the 3 mounting bolts (arrows).
Clean the sealing surfaces of the oil filter housing and cylinder block.
Installation
Install the oil filter housing.
Replace the seal.
Tighten the bolts to a torque of 20 Nm.
Install the oil filter housing cover.
Replace the sealing ring.
Tighten the cover mounting bolts to 10 Nm.

Install the exhaust manifold shield.
Install the oil dipstick guide tube.
Tighten the 3 mounting bolts to 8 Nm.
Install the engine transport eyelet on the left.
Install a heated lambda sensor to control the fuel mixture composition.
Apply mounting paste (white) to the threads.
Tighten the lambda sensor to 40 Nm.
Connect the wire harness connector.
Secure the wiring harness.
On the "ECO" model variant, install the engine compartment cover at the bottom.
Connect the battery terminals.
Program volatile memory.
Close the hood.
