Be careful if you have a radio with a security code installed. Make sure you have the security code so that you can reactivate the radio after installation.
If the battery is disconnected, the ignition and radio with security code must be switched off.
Loosen the nut on the negative cable terminal and remove the terminal from the battery pole.
Loosen the positive cable clamp and remove.
Unscrew the bolt securing the bar at the base of the battery, remove the bolt and bar.
Remove the battery.
When installing, first connect the positive wire, then the negative terminal.

It is possible to rearrange the wire terminals by mistake only if you apply a lot of force, since the head of the positive pole is thicker than the head of the negative pole.
If you have a radio with a security code, set the code number again.
Removal the battery monoblock
Vectra is equipped with a removable battery monoblock. During the corresponding installation work, the battery monoblock must be removed to facilitate the work and often the associated time savings.
Remove the battery.
Unscrew the 6 mounting bolts located underneath it.
Remove the fasteners from the battery support clamps.
Remove the battery pack from the engine compartment.
When installing, tighten the fasteners onto the battery support.
Caring for battery contacts
Wash the contaminated battery case with cold detergent, water and a stiff brush.
Wash off the oxide crystals on the battery terminals with warm alkaline water or treat with Varta's Neutralon.
Be careful not to allow water, dirt or cleaning agent to enter the battery fluid through the vent holes in the sealing plug.
Check if the ventilation holes in the plug are clogged; if they are clogged, clean them.
Lubricate the battery terminal heads and wire terminals with acid protection agent (Bosch "Ft 40 v 1").
Do not lubricate the sides of the pole heads or the inside of the terminals, otherwise contact difficulties may occur.
