Get behind the wheel and check consistently.
Are the digital clocks, outside temperature and calendar numbers working correctly?
Turn on the ignition. The following should light up: the battery charging indicator, the oil pressure indicator, the engine indicator and, when the handbrake is on, the handbrake indicator.
Next, the anti-lock system indicator light is on (ABS) in the right indicator field of the dashboard and in cars with an automatic transmission and with the corresponding equipment, a symbol of a defect in the gearbox in the indicator display.
The airbag warning light illuminates for about 4 seconds and then goes out.
With some slowdown, the arrow of the amount of fuel in the fuel tank moves along the scale and, where it is, the control light with the symbol goes out «Gas station».
Operate the left lever switch - does the green indicator lamp for the direction indicator and, accordingly, the blue indicator lamp for high beam light up?
When the switch is pressed, the indicator lamps for the alarm, heated rear window, air circulation switch, air conditioning switch and when the dipped beam is on, fog lamps and a lantern (as well as an additional control light in the dashboard)?
Start the engine - does the tachometer work?
During a test drive, check the operation of the speedometer, coolant temperature indicator and indicator for switching to a sports program of driving or engine start support (vehicles with automatic transmission).
Removing the instrument panel
The instrument panel can be removed from the dashboard without dismantling the steering wheel.
Remove the air mixing nozzle on the driver's side and the middle air mixing nozzle, see chapter «Heating and ventilation».
Dismantle facing of a steering column, see the chapter «Salon».
Release the lever switch and remove from the steering column.
Unscrew the left and right one fixing screw on the instrument panel.
Pull the instrument panel slightly out of the instrument panel so that both multi-pin connectors are accessible.
Use a screwdriver to unlock the wire connectors.
Remove the instrument panel from the instrument panel towards the middle of the vehicle and then to the side.
When dismantling the instrument panel, unscrew the fixing screws shown here (arrows).
Pull out a little instrument panel (1), unlock and remove the two connectors on the back (2) wires.
Remove the instrument housing from the front frame. The arrows show the four clamps that secure the instrument case to the front frame.
Dismantle the body of the device (1) from the front frame (2). The arrows show the four fixing screws that are used to fasten the instrument case to the front frame.
