Removal
1. Remove the gear shift lever as described in Chapter 5.
2. Soak the gear shift knob in hot water (approximately 80°C) for several minutes, then unscrew the knob and remove it from the lever. There is a high risk of damaging the knob when removing it.
3. Pull the old protective cover off the lever and install the new one. Apply a small amount of liquid detergent to the edge of the cover to facilitate installation.
Installation
4. Install the handle using a mallet, preheating it in hot water. Make sure the handle is installed correctly.
5. Install the gear shift lever as described in Chapter 5.
