Input shaft seal (clutch) — removal and installation (Opel Vectra A)

Note: Use a new release bearing guide sleeve O-ring when installing.

Removal

1. Remove the fork release bearings as described in Section 6.

2. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the release bearing guide sleeve from the clutch housing.

Remove the O-ring installed between the guide sleeve and the clutch housing.

3. Remove the old oil seal from the guide sleeve.

Installation

4. Install the new seal using a socket or tube. Be careful as the seal can be easily damaged.

5. Fill the space between the sealing lips of the new oil seal with lithium grease, then install the guide sleeve using a new O-ring. The O-ring must be installed without grease.

6. Install the release bearing and fork as described in Section 6.
