Removal
1. Loosen the tie bolt securing the gear selector rod to the rod.
2. Press the locking clip, then remove the universal joint pivot shaft.
3. Release the spring clip, then remove the shroud pivot pin from the bracket on the rear engine/transmission mount.
4. Remove the traction bar from the vehicle.
Installation
5. Inspect the traction components for signs of wear and replace as necessary (see illustration). Further dismantling is not recommended.
6. Install in the reverse order, but before tightening the selector rod clamp bolt, adjust the selector rod as described in Chapter 2.
