Removing
Mark the position of the rear wheels relative to the hub so that the balanced wheels take their original position during installation. For marking, it is enough to make a stroke with chalk or paint on the disc and hub.
Raise the rear of the car, remove the wheels.
Release the parking brake.
Remove brake pads.
Remove brake caliper.
Hang the brake caliper on the wire hook without twisting or pulling on the brake hose.
Attention! Do not disconnect the hose, otherwise you will then have to remove air from the brake system.
Loosen the fixing screw from the hub.
Remove brake disc.
Installation
To ensure uniform braking on both sides, both brake discs must be of the same thickness and have the same surface roughness. Therefore, it is imperative to replace or grind both discs.
In the workshop, you can check the runout of the brake disc. The maximum allowable axial runout measured on the working surface is 0.03 mm with the disc removed and 0.1 mm with the disc installed. The maximum allowable roughness is 0.4 mm, and the allowable difference in thickness between the discs is 0.1 mm.
Measure the brake disc thickness.
Clean, as far as possible, the parking brake pads and brake caliper.
Check the wear of the parking brake pads A, replace the pads if necessary.
Remove traces of corrosion (if there) from the brake disc flange and hub B.
Clean new brake discs with solvent.
Clean the threaded hole of the fixing bolt, if necessary using a tap. Coat the fixing bolt with sealant, e.g. Opel 1510177.
Slide the brake disc onto the hub and tighten with a torque of 8 Nm.
Fasten the brake caliper to the lever with a torque of 80 Nm.
Install brake pads.
Fit the wheels, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel bolts crosswise to 110 Nm.
Attention! Press the brake pedal several times until resistance occurs.
Turn the steering wheel so that the caliper comes out.
Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir, top up if necessary "MAX".
Front wheel drive vehicles
In principle, the brake discs are removed in the same way. For specific instructions on removing the hub, see chapter "Rear suspension" In chapter "Removal and installation of bearings of naves of back wheels".
