The sensor transmits the value of the refrigerant pressure in the refrigeration circuit to the fuel injection system control unit. The injection system control unit controls the engine cooling system fans depending on the high pressure level in the refrigeration circuit and the vehicle speed. Removal of the pressure sensor can be carried out without draining the refrigerant. When removed, the automatic shut-off valve isolates the circuit from the external environment.
