Location of body supports
Note: The 5-door model body is mounted on five frame supports (1, 2, 3, 5 and 6) on each side of the frame. The body of the 3-door model is mounted on four frame supports (1, 2, 3 and 4) on each side of the frame.
Removal
Remove the front bumper (see the relevant chapter).
Remove the rear bumper (see the relevant chapter).
On one side of the vehicle, remove the nuts and bolts from the mounts that need to be replaced.
Raise the vehicle frame, then place jack stands under the front and rear of the vehicle.
Lower the frame until the body is installed on the support stands and replace the appropriate supports.
Installation
Install new body mounts.
Secure the new body mounts with bolts and nuts, tightening them as follows:
- on a 5-door vehicle, tighten the bolts and nuts of supports 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 to 50 N·m;
- on a 3-door vehicle, tighten the bolts and nuts of supports 1, 2 and 3 to 50 Nm, and support 4 to 103 Nm.
Raise the vehicle frame, then remove the body support struts.
Lower the vehicle frame.
Install the rear bumper (see the relevant chapter).
Install the front bumper (see the relevant chapter).
