Important note: The bolts securing the propeller shaft to the main gear flange are self-locking and are not used a second time.
1. Place the front of the vehicle on stands.
2. Mark both propeller shaft flanges in relation to the mating flanges as shown.
3. Loosen and knock out the bolts securing the propeller shaft to the flanges of the main transmission and transfer case.

4. Remove the driveshaft.
When installing, the end of the shaft with the movable fork must be connected to the front axle. The flanges are connected in accordance with the marking. Bolts and nuts must be new. Tighten the connection by hand. Further tightening is carried out as follows:
1. Tighten the bolts securing the main gear flange to a torque of 75 Nm for all vehicle types.
2. Transfer case flange mounting bolts for a three-door petrol engine (mSG gearbox) tighten to 35 Nm.
3. Tighten the bolts securing the transfer case flange for a five-door vehicle to a torque of 75 Nm.
