Important note: The bolts securing the cardan shaft to the final drive flange are self-locking and cannot be used a second time.
1. Place the front of the car on stands.
2. Mark both propshaft flanges in relation to mating flanges as shown.
3. Loosen and knock out the bolts securing the cardan shaft to the flanges of the final drive and transfer case.
4. Remove the cardan shaft.
When installing, the end of the shaft with the movable fork must be connected to the front axle. Flanges are connected in accordance with the marking. Bolts and nuts must be new. Tighten the connection by hand. Further tightening is carried out as follows:
1. Bolts of fastening to the flange of the final drive of cars of all versions, tighten with a torque of 75 Nm.
2. Bolts for fastening to the flange of the transfer case with a gasoline engine for a three-door car (MSG gearbox) tighten to 35 Nm.
3. Bolts of fastening to a flange of a distributing box for the five-door car tighten the moment of 75 Nm.
